Who Is Sarah Kidder

A short edutainment film about women’s history in Nevada County

Nevada County is rich with stories of remarkable women. Sarah Kidder stands out as a true trailblazer—the first woman to serve as president of a railroad company in the United States.

To educate, entertain, and inspire, Thumbler conceived, developed, and directed the short film Who Is Sarah Kidder. This 15-minute film is a shining example of community collaboration, created in partnership with:
* Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum
* Nevada County Media
* Nevada Union High School media students
* Nonprofit leaders from across Nevada County

California Humanities funded the project, highlighting how storytelling can uplift organizations, engage youth, and preserve important local history.

Pamela Biery wrote the screenplay and directed the film, blending historical insight with creative storytelling in a piece that speaks to audiences of all ages.
